Serving Communities in South Fulton and the Greater Atlanta Area

Who We Are

  • The South Fulton Community Mediation Center is a Community Mediation Center grounded in the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title X, the federal statute that authorized community-based mediation as a public civil rights resource. We are a member and active participant in the national community mediation movement supported by the National Association for Community Mediation, which advances community mediation practice across the United States.

  • Our practice follows the Nine Hallmarks of Community Mediation. These include voluntary participation, self-determination, neutrality and impartiality, confidentiality, accessibility, community ownership, cultural sensitivity, nonviolence, and systemic engagement. These principles ensure the community remains the decision maker while trained practitioners hold safe and structured processes.

  • We envision our role as a “tugboat,” helping guide and empower local efforts. We want to make sure every individual and community organization knows that we are here to help, with integrity, respect, and transparency. Effecting systemic change through collaborative community relationships is foundational to the center’s approach.
